The vast majority of the thousands of people who managed to get Glastonbury tickets will be fighting through the traffic jams around Stonehenge on the way to the festival this week. The more affluent revellers, however, may wish to start the weekend with a quick journey time and arrive completely relaxed, flying in by helicopter – and this is just the start of their luxury festival experience.

Oli Foss, Customer Experience Manager at Air Charter Service, who will be on site this week, explains how your Glastonbury experience can be very different. “Aside from the mode of transportation to the festival, there is a wide variety of glamping experiences, depending on your budget. Camp Kerala is the peak at the top end and, with just a short drive in a Range Rover to the backstage area, is also an extremely convenient option.”

It is not just the ultimate glamping experience, Vogue Magazine described it as ‘unquestionably one of the most glamorous places to be in the UK’. It features a spa, Jacuzzi, bar with cocktail mixologists and fine dining. Guests sleep in spacious Shikar tents, with duck-down duvets and Egyptian cotton sheets. The tents have wood floors, heating, en suite bathroom facilities and sheepskin rugs.

Foss added: “Many of helicopter bookings tend to be last minute, and they started to come in last week with more expected this week – although one client booked a helicopter last June!

“It’s not only festival-goers that favour helicopters, performing artists have been doing it for years. Last year we flew in several stars for their performances at the Isle of Wight Festival and this year is no different for Glastonbury. Many of those bookings also tend to be last minute – for the Isle of Wight Festival, we booked a helicopter on the morning of the day that one of the bands was playing on to fly them in and out directly before and after their set on the main stage.

“So, it doesn’t have to all be traffic jams, mud, wet wipes and long drop lavatories!”
