Easter Eggstravaganza

Easter is around the corner, so we’ve taken a look at some of the things you could get up to, where you can find the best/biggest eggs and also our favourite Easter escape.

The Egg Rolling Championships

The White House is said to be once again hosting their annual Egg Roll event on the lawns. Previous years have seen hundreds turn up to the ticketed event, with the children taking it in turns to race, pushing wooden eggs along the ground with long handled spoons. Previous events have also had facepainting, food and beverage stands, celebrity readings and plenty more entertainment for young and old alike. Whilst there hasn’t been an official statement this year, we’re hoping the lawns will once again be filled with rolling eggs.

A Magical Easter Egg-scape

Easter Island, located in the South Pacific, is not the easiest place to reach, unless you go by private jet charter from nearby Santiago or Tahiti. However, it is this difficult position which has allowed Easter Island to retain much of its charm, and help preserve the 1,500-year-old volcanic rock sculptures that the island is famed for. If you do decide to take the plunge and explore this intriguing island, may we recommend the beautiful explora Rapa Nui as your accommodation during your stay? Set upon a remote stretch of land, the xplora is about a different type of luxury, the luxury of time, space and peace. There are just 30 rooms and suites, as well as a cosy restaurant, outdoor pool, bar and massage room, ideal for relaxing after a day’s exploration.

The Ultimate Chocolate Egg

Choccywoccydoodah is the kooky, quirky chocolate shop that everyone is talking about. Starting in Brighton, but now with a wonderfully eclectic shop in London, Choccywoccydoodah are chocolate magicians. A walk through their showroom is the closest you’ll ever come to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Having had mythical beast themed eggs in the past, this year they have created the Hare Family for their London store and the Ducks for the Brighton store. Both sets are made up of ginormous eggs crafted entirely from chocolate. Last year a single one of the trio cost £10,000 with all three as a set priced at £25,000 so we’re intrigued to see how much this year’s batches are going to go for.

The Biggest Easter Parade

New York City is famed for its parades, and the Easter one is a must for many. It’s not a big float and balloon based parade, but instead those partaking put on their Sunday best, and of course an Easter bonnet. From Central Park down to the Rockefeller Center, it’s an opportunity to show off your most fashionable outfits, and your creativity in crafting your Easter bonnet. There is also an Eggstravaganza on the Great Lawn in Central Park with stalls, game and an egg rolling tournament.

So if any of these Easter treats have caught your fancy, why not charter a private jet for Easter with Air Charter Service and make sure it’s truly egg-ceptional.
