Chinese New Year Tour
After a recommendation from one of our existing clients, a travel agency in Beijing approached us about a Chinese New Year tour through South America that couldn’t be done with scheduled services.
OUR SOLUTION
Working closely with colleagues in the New York office, an ACS account manager based in Beijing started searching for aircraft with comfortable seating for 13 passengers, including a small baby, and the range to cover the longest leg of the trip, which was direct from Los Angeles to Jamaica. A Gulfstream G-IV was the perfect fit, and since such heavy jets are a rarity in China, it would also add a sense of excitement as they most likely wouldn’t have travelled in one before. Within a couple of days the aircraft was confirmed and the account manager initiated the complex operational planning process. As well as dealing with all the usual catering and airport logistics, the account manager worked closely with local tour guides to ensure the group enjoyed a seamless meet and greet at every stop. All the planning and hard work paid off, and the group enjoyed an effortless getaway. What’s more, by chartering an aircraft, they saved nearly 50 hours in travel time over the course of the trip.

A TAILORED TRIP
Immigration cards for every port were sourced before the trip, so they could be filled in on board and a VIP security channel was arranged at every airport too, to ensure a quick getaway. The night before leaving Costa Rica, a passenger called to say they wanted to fit in a round of golf before departure the following morning. In next to no time, the account manager had shuffled the schedule and booked new slots, so the flight could take off two and a half hours later than originally planned.
Throughout the trip, ACS Beijing was in constant contact with ACS New York, the travel agent in China, local tour guides in each destination and the passengers themselves. With a 12-hour time difference, that meant working through the night on several occasions.
