Leading aircraft charter broker, Air Charter Service, booked more than 40 aircraft for rugby fans and teams flying them around Europe for the Six Nations tournament, which concluded at the weekend.

Justin Bowman, CEO of Air Charter Service, commented: “We were booking flights for the tournament since the World Cup finished at the end of last October. And the requests were still coming in, even after the games were underway.

“One of the main benefits of chartering an aircraft for the ties is that fans can complete a round trip in a weekend and be back home in time for Monday. There simply aren’t enough scheduled flights to carry the many thousands of fans to the away ties that the nations face each year.

“Our French office was particularly busy with France’s two away games, first in Wales and then Scotland. We had almost 4,000 passengers each way just to those two games alone.

“We also booked flights for each of England’s three away games – the wins at Murrayfield, in Rome and Paris for the final game in the tournament.”
